The adapter is required for flushing the refrigerant circuit, for the PHEV circuit with a second evaporator system, to remove contamination in the refrigeration circuit, if there are uncertainties about the amount of oil in the refrigeration circuit or if there is internal damage to the air conditioning compressor.
Flushing is required after replacing certain components according to the vehicle-specific workshop manual.
