The solar charger module VAS 6102A is extremely well suited for making battery care more efficient and economical in vehicles parked up and in storage.
It maintains the charge status of the battery over the whole period of vehicle storage and in many cases even improves the charge level considerably.
Use of the solar charger module helps to reduce the costs and amount of work necessary for battery care significantly. Even taking the procurement costs into consideration, the modules have a very high saving potential.
The use of solar charger modules saves having to:
disconnect the battery when placing vehicles in storage,
check the battery when placing vehicles into storage (new vehicles),
recharge the battery.
The solar module just has to be placed in the vehicle once when placing the vehicle in storage.
The only prerequisite to charge the battery with the solar charger module is an OBD2 connection in the vehicle.
Since this is standard in almost all vehicles these days, the solar charger module can be used in practically any vehicle, irrespective of make and model.

Design and features:
The solar charger module is a solar energy supplied charging system for charging and maintaining the charge in 12 volt lead-acid starter batteries with capacities of approx. 36 to 100 ampere hours.
A combination of maximum 2 additional solar charger modules is possible to increase performance.
The charger system is voltage-restricted and features temperature-compensation in accordance with the charging characteristics of lead-acid accumulators.
The nominal charge current per solar module with full sunlight intensity in the open is 255mA.
With permanent battery charge retention using a solar charger module, the formation of sulphates is avoided and the storage capacity of the battery is maintained.
